No, thats not right. One thing your forgot to mention was the engine size. But on average for a four cylinder, plan to spend between $400 and 600. But this is if just a head gasket is needed, double that estimate if you need to replace the head with a used unit. Now if it's a Quad Four then add about $400 to that estimate. If it's a V6 then you might end up in the $800 range. But one thing, find a reputable shop as mentioned above. It saves you in the long run.

But it will take the mech. around 2.5-3
you are looking at about 12 hours for both banks. This is a common problem with this engine. Make sure you replace the intake gasket too.
3.43 litre v.6 you would be changing both getting heads magna fluxed 8.0 but you would not just buying head gasket most likely hole top end set 176.00$ good ones do it right to much work to be lazy.
