Is this head gasket blown?? Will chose best answer. pics?

This is my first time changing a head gasket. Clouds of white smoke came out of the exhaust pipe, so im guessing its antifreeze.

It looks dirty but not look damaged. How can I tell if this is a bad head gasket?

Will chose best answer, any tips would help. thanks

Did you do a compression test or leak down test before you tore down this engine? It would have confirmed that you had a bad head gasket. Sometimes a bad intake gasket will draw coolant into the engine and through the exhaust. Looking at the head i can see that you do have a seal problem as well, so just have the valve job done and install a new head gasket and torque the head back on in the proper sequence a few pounds at a time. Use a quality name brand gasket set, not a cheap set.

good luck......

I don't see anything in the pictures you took. look very closely at the gasket around where the cylinders are. Also check the head around the combustion chamber. I noticed what looks like oil on the valve, check inside of the head, around that valve very closely. You could also need new valve seals, to check this remove the valve spring and check for side to side play in the valve.

well I don't see any thing wrong with it. but while you have it apart put a new gasket on . as far as the oil on the valve see other question for answer.
