1997 ford explorer head gasket?

I am going to be changing my head gaskets this weekend along with the timing cover gaskets. Is there anything that anyone would recommend changing while im working in that area? I have a v6 4.0L OHV if that matters.1997 ford explorer head gasket? The timing belt or chain.

Vacuum lines, your PCV, the Belt tensioner, new belts, and since you have it out, put in a new clutch fan.

If I do a job like that, i clean the mechanical parts i take out for that job [cylinders and heads] If you can finish the job in one day make sure you cover the open engine.
Just inspect all components very carefully and if financially possible replace all obvious maintenance items, thermostat, belts %26amp; hoses,water-pump.On this model replacement of the head bolts is an absolute must as is inspection of the heads for damage (cracks).Bring the disassembled heads to a machine shop to be magnafluxed.Cracked heads are extemely common on this model so much so that only new heads are available.
on some models there is a possibility to put the head gaskets on the wrong way. check the orientation before you pull the old head gaskets off, or you can cover up needed coolant passages and cause the engine to overheat.
