C200 w202 - changed head gasket - oil in coolant and now overheating?

Hi

I have recently had head gasket changed - I noticed it had gone when I looked in radiator and it was filled with pure peanut buttery oil/water sludge. The head gasket was changed and engine flushed etc - the car is much better - although there are a few other things still wrong with it - it no longer runs rough/misfires and it has power. However, I have noticed a few things -

1. The car overheats - temp ries to almost 100C after just driving a few miles at a very steady pace ie 40-50mph

2. The steering seems much heavier than it should be

3. I filled up the radiator yesterday and noticed there was a small amount of peanut butter oil/water mix today present in the radiator

4. I just looked again a moment ago (having driven about 4 miles today) and there is now quite a lot of it present - like a thick layer of gunk resting on the coolant

5. I have checked the oil and there is NO coolant in the oil reservoir (whih makes me think that thi time it is not the head gasket)

I'm just wondering whether it is possible that the engine just wasn't properly flushed out leaving thick gunk coated in the radiator (I was able to put 2 litres of coolant in yesterday) which has now just been loosened and is loating on the coolant, or whether it could be a problem with my radiator.

The radiator is not losing any water, ha no leaks/cracks, the in/outflow tubes are in perfect condition and there is no sign of coolant in the exhaust or any white smoke whilst driving.

The head gasket was only done very recently ie about 40 miles ago, and the car has been driven carefully since it was done as I was told that the new head gasket needs to be driven in slowly for the first couple of hundred miles (which I have been doing like a good girl!)

Please help!

The car is Mercedes C200 1995 2l petrol manual :-) Thanks in advance xxxxxxxxxxC200 w202 - changed head gasket - oil in coolant and now overheating? The thermostat and the water pump are prime suspect for overheating. Secondly, the radiator might be clogged beyond any effective method of cleaning and then replacing it is the only solution.

There should be no oil in the coolant anymore, especially if the engine was flushed.

Being you i'd replace pump and thermostat (cheap), by this occasion drain all coolant and replace with fresh and then see what's going on after next few days (the temperature, oil in the coolant).

Since your engine (M111 series) is not too notorious about eating head gaskets, it might be as well that the faulty cooling was the real cause that the first head gasket went.

if the radiator,,,hoses,,and water pump are from 1995 start there,,,thermostate,,proper tune up,,,automatic tranny? hows the fluid look..its cooled by the radiatir too.
