How do I change a head gasket on a 1988 isuzu trooper?

i need a manuel or step by step what to do it myselfHow do I change a head gasket on a 1988 isuzu trooper? My personal opinion is that you need to let a professional tackle the job. Attempting a major repair like that on a vehicle that old is only asking for trouble. What are you going to do, if you snap or break a bolt (exhaust manifold bolts for example)?

The easiest way to get what you need is a trip to the local library or auto parts store to pick up a Haynes manual for your Trooper, if you purchased one, you would always have information about your vehicle on hand.

you need to pull of the heads, get a new top end gasket set, take the heads to a machine shop to get them resurfaced ( No you CANNOT do that part yourself) take off the old gaskets and put the new ones on. The put the heads back on. Or take it to a shop.
Let the expert do it, not you. You will end up spend more money by do it yourself.
