After changing head gaskets, no compression on driver side of 96 GMC Jimmy 4.3L Vortec?

Have just recently changed head gaskets, intake manifold, exhaust manifold gaskets because of water in oil problem. Gunk in oil pan SEVERLY thick sludge. Last oil change 2500 miles ago did not indicate water in oil. After all back together, driver side only has no compression on all cylinders when rocker nuts torqued per spec. Can back off on torque and engine run perfect, however cannot leave like this because nuts too loose to stay adjusted that way. Heads NOT shaved after removal. Just replaced gaskets.

PeteyAfter changing head gaskets, no compression on driver side of 96 GMC Jimmy 4.3L Vortec?First thing I would do is to loosen ALL the bolts on both sides. Then retorque in the proper order. Tighten the bolts a little bit at a time in the proper order (like cylinder 1 then cylinder 6, cylinder 3 then 4 etc.).

If that doesn't work, I would take it back apart (it's always easier the 2nd time around) and see if something is not right (something not clean or not lined up right ect.).

If this isn't it, it could be a crack or warped head.

We use to take and hit the nuts with a hammer just enough to ovalize them or you can buy some locking nuts.

Time to take it apart and see what the problem is. Something may not have been put back together correct.

Have the head magnafluxed for cracks and milled if it is not true. Sorry
head is warped...either shave it or buy new ...or take a chance on one from a junk yard
Try rotating your tires,that should do it.
I would have to say warped or cracked head
